It may not look pretty, but here’s an amazing example of how traditional Hung Gar can be applied to a real life fight. It’s brutal, fast and exists to either neutralize an opponent through a flurry of swift, powerful blows or to take away their balance and get the upper hand.
Demonstration by Sifu Omar and Sifu Sharif Bey.
The gifs don’t really do the power and precision any justice so you can watch the video here, if you’d like.
Looks good! However I feel they should demonstrate the techniques against the attacks of a kick boxer, not someone who also does the same art… Am I making sense?
I much prefer that too. Kung fu (and martial arts in general) when employed in a street fight, won’t be used against another martial artists 99% of the time. I’d rather see how martial arts neutralizes the average slugger or even a dirty fighter.
hung gar has always been a style I want to get into. One day.
